Overview

Weir ESCO is a global leader in mining technology focused on sustainable practices. As a Shop Welder, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality welding and fabrication services to support efficient and sustainable mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and execute fabrication instructions from work orders, diagrams, drawings, and CIS standards.
• Perform manual welding in various positions while maintaining proper arc length and speed.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and prepare surfaces for welding using appropriate techniques.
• Cut and prepare workpieces to meet job specifications using oxy-fuel cutting and grinding tools.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6-12 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Proficiency in basic math including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
