Overview
The Tooling Weld Fab position is responsible for the fabrication needs in the Tool Room, Maintenance, and Press room, reporting to the Weld Fabrication Group Leader and Tooling Manager. The role requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency diploma, with vocational training in welding being a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform various welding operations including MIG, TIG, and Stick.
- Braise mill steel and cast materials.
- Use silver solder on tips and various metals.
- Properly use oxygen and acetylene cutting torches.
- Manage fabrication from start to finish, including sketching to project completion.
- Identify and implement improvements in operations and troubleshoot issues.
- Teach others in welding operations professionally.
- Install fabricated jobs in-house or through outside equipment.
- Perform repair jobs for in-house equipment including welding and disassembly.
- Set up equipment for proper material settings.
- Maintain flexibility for work schedule and overtime as needed.
Requirements
- General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency diploma required.
- Vocational or Technical training in welding is a plus.
- Experience with various welding techniques and equipment.
