Overview

RMS Turbo Care Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder – Engineered Products for its Operations Department in Chicopee, MA. The role involves welding and fabrication operations on rotating equipment components to meet quality standards and support production activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of welding and fabrication operations on rotating equipment components.
• Support production activities through MIG, TIG, and stick welding of various materials.
• Promote safe work practices and proper equipment use.
• Fabricate centrifugal compressor impellers via slot and traditional fillet welding.
• Conduct visual inspections of welds and apply grinding techniques.
• Set up positioners, thermal blankets, and induction heaters for pre-work.
• Track usage of consumables such as burrs and torch tips.
• Inspect and record measurements of component parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Notify Quality and Production Leadership of non-conformities.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED from an accredited institution.
• Post High School degree in a welding-related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience related to compressor or turbine rotors/components.
• Expert in the use of precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Must not have allergies related to handling metals.

Additional Information

• This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
• Participation in drug and alcohol screening and background checks may be required.
• Ability to work in a shop environment for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
