Overview
The Welder is responsible for welding on all types of materials, components, and products, ensuring quality and safety in the work environment.
Responsibilities
- Collects equipment and materials based on production requirements as instructed by the welding lead.
- Fabricates components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn and weld pieces.
- Sets up and measures assemblies.
- Determines appropriate welding techniques.
- Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds.
- Documents actions by completing records as required by the welding lead.
- Maintains a safe work environment by following procedures and safety regulations.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventative maintenance.
- Cleans up welds by grinding, buffing, and/or other means to provide an acceptable surface condition.
- Assists and trains other welders, as required.
- Reports abnormal conditions of equipment to Foreman.
- Assists in placing and removing pieces, components, and products to/from the welding area.
- Operates forklifts and other mobile equipment for moving material, components, and equipment within the plant.
- Keeps working area clean and performs housekeeping duties around the plant as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to learn.
- Capable of reading and understanding Engineering drawings, documents, weld symbols, and tape measure.
- Working knowledge of different types of cutting equipment.

Additional Information
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Fridays 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Schedule may change based on workload.
- Travel is not required.
- Work Location: In person.
