The Senior Welder B performs a variety of routine welding duties, primarily using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and flux cored arc welding (FCAW) processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine welding duties including welding nozzles and fittings to tanks and heat exchanger shells.
- Fit up nozzles or similar components on standard products using jigs and fixtures.
- Weld using GMAW and FCAW processes on fillet joints and groove joints with or without backing.
- Understand and follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and company quality protocols.
- Complete all welding operations within operational time limits.
- Work independently using drawings, specifications, WPS, and verbal instructions.
- Use various types of welding equipment and common hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret basic drawings and perform simple layouts.
- Monitor quality of work and report equipment malfunctions or defective materials.
- Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of welding experience using drawings, specifications, charts, and welding equipment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to navigate the company ERP system.
- Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines.
- Must be able to pass ASME Section IX welding tests for FCAW/GMAW and SAW processes.
