Overview

M.J. Nester Specialty Contractors is a leading provider of industrial services including welding, mechanical millwright work, heavy rigging, pipefitting, and plant relocation. We are seeking a dedicated Welder Apprentice to develop skills in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, with approximately 75% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks for industrial machinery installations and repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Assist in mechanical equipment setup and maintenance.
• Conduct field repairs on piping, structural steel, and machine frames.
• Cross-train in mechanical maintenance and basic electrical work.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet job timelines.
• Follow proper housekeeping and safety procedures.
• Travel to job sites across the country as part of a mobile crew.

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics.
• Interest in learning electrical systems and controls.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and PPE.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred (training provided if not held).
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
