Overview

Griswold Industries is seeking a Welding Fabrication Specialist who will perform precision hand welding using MIG, TIG, and ARC equipment under general supervision. The position requires adherence to safety guidelines and company policies while working with various welding machines and production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision hand welding using MIG, TIG, and ARC equipment.
• Work to close tolerances and certify work as requested.
• Follow blueprints, production drawings, and procedures.
• Confer with departmental representatives to verify engineering plans.
• Perform hand burning and gas welding.
• Repair welds and structural welds.
• Clean shop and maintain work areas and equipment.
• Operate drill press occasionally with instruction from supervisor.
• Set up, operate, and adjust related production equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Equivalent to high school graduation.
• Considerable experience, training, education, and/or certification as a combination welder.
• Able to operate all types of welding machines.
• Able to operate related production equipment including lathes, brakes, shears, saw cutters, grinders, and drill press.
• Considerable knowledge of all phases of welding including MIG, TIG, and ARC methods.
• Able to read blueprints, layouts, and fittings.
• Able to communicate and work cooperatively with others.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to fabricate materials to specifications.
• Able to lay out and organize work.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift, move, and carry tools and materials.
• Requires safety shoes, appropriate clothing, and applicable government and company certification.
