Overview
Hancock Structural Steel is growing and looking for a skilled Structural Steel Fabricator to join our 1st shift team. This role involves fabricating and assembling structural steel components for commercial and industrial construction projects, contributing to the strength and integrity of the buildings we create.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel components according to blueprints and shop drawings
- Fit and assemble fabricated steel parts to exact specifications
- Perform MIG welding using modern welding equipment
- Safely rig, hoist, and move materials using overhead cranes
- Operate forklifts and other shop equipment
- Use precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow instructions and retain technical information
- Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts preferred
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Reliable, safety-minded, and team-oriented
