Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Shop Welder, where your expertise in welding and fabrication will drive the creation of high-quality metal components and structures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical skills to bring designs to life.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate fabrication and assembly of metal parts.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and other welding with precision, adhering to ASME codes & standards.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment for cutting, shaping, and assembling components.
  • Conduct rigging operations and operate forklifts safely for material handling during fabrication processes.
  • Measure materials accurately using precision tools and perform basic math calculations for dimensions and tolerances.
  • Fabricate custom parts by cutting, welding, soldering, pipe threading, and assembling components according to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean workspace by organizing tools and materials and following safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Eager to learn; some experience in manufacturing environments involving metal fabrication is preferred.
  • Skilled in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding techniques with the ability to produce high-quality welds.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience operating rigging equipment, forklifts, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other machinery.
  • Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and metal fabrication projects.
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and schematics for accurate measurements.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations in fabrication processes.
