Overview
The Weld Operator II reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications to weld metal components using various processes and techniques. The role involves following safety standards, maintaining equipment, and ensuring product quality through routine checks.
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to plan welding operations.
- Sets up and operates welding equipment to produce fabricated components.
- Prepares materials for welding by cleaning surfaces, grinding, and fitting components.
- Inspects completed welds visually and using testing methods to ensure they meet quality standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
- 2 years of professional welding experience.
- Proficiency in multiple welding processes such as GMAW and GTAW.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
- Knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Completion of a certified welding program or apprenticeship preferred.

- Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
