Overview
Taber Industries is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-reliability pressure transducers and material test & measurement instruments. The Transducer Division is AS9100-certified and supports critical applications across aerospace, defense, space, and industrial markets.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment in accordance with weld schedules and MRP requirements.
- Perform precision TIG welding on transducer components including caps, elements, bodies, and receptacles to meet customer and engineering specifications.
- Align and adjust components using dial indicators to ensure concentricity and minimize runout.
- Set up and operate a surface grinder to achieve required tolerances per blueprint specifications.
- Set up and operate a lathe to establish clamp depths and stops for differential transducers.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
- Conduct weld samples and quality checks as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training (BOCES or similar) preferred.
- 0–4 years of relevant experience in machining or welding environments (or equivalent training).
- Hands-on experience with TIG welding.
- Hands-on experience with manual machining (lathe and surface grinder).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with precision.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a production environment.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Close visual acuity (clarity at 20 inches or less).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contract requirements.
