Overview

Taber Industries is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-reliability pressure transducers and material test & measurement instruments. The Transducer Division is AS9100-certified and supports critical applications across aerospace, defense, space, and industrial markets.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment in accordance with weld schedules and MRP requirements.
• Perform precision TIG welding on transducer components including caps, elements, bodies, and receptacles to meet customer and engineering specifications.
• Align and adjust components using dial indicators to ensure concentricity and minimize runout.
• Set up and operate a surface grinder to achieve required tolerances per blueprint specifications.
• Set up and operate a lathe to establish clamp depths and stops for differential transducers.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
• Conduct weld samples and quality checks as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training (BOCES or similar) preferred.
• 0–4 years of relevant experience in machining or welding environments (or equivalent training).
• Hands-on experience with TIG welding.
• Hands-on experience with manual machining (lathe and surface grinder).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with precision.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a production environment.
• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
• Repetitive use of hands and arms.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Close visual acuity (clarity at 20 inches or less).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contract requirements.
