Overview

The Welder I role is essential for fabricating and assembling structural components using MIG welding techniques, ensuring precision and compliance with engineering specifications. The position requires basic welding tasks under supervision and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic welding tasks under supervision using MIG, Stick, or Flux-Core.
  • Read and follow simple blueprints and work instructions.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting components.
  • Conduct basic weld inspections for appearance and obvious defects.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
  • Incorporate Kelvion’s Standard of Excellence into every product.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Familiarity with structural welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1 or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and workplace safety practices.
  • AWS certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or welding certification preferred.
  • 0-2 years of MIG welding experience, preferably in a structural or heavy fabrication setting.
