Job Description

Overview

The Code Welder plans, lays out, assembles, and installs metal parts and products according to specifications and blueprints. The position requires a wide range of welding skills and the operation of various power tools while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following safety procedures.
  • Pass the ASME Vessel Code Weld test.
  • Fit and weld pressurized vessels and pipes.
  • Perform Mig and Stick welding operations.
  • Short arc, spray arc, and use a torch proficiently.
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment.
  • Read and work from plans, sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering on improvement projects.
  • Support Lean and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Be flexible to work hours necessary to meet plant requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or two years related work experience.
  • Successfully pass a 3G plate test and 6G pipe welding test.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • 2-3 years minimum of related work experience.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb, and use a ladder.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull 100 pounds following safety procedures.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles for precision technical plans.
