The Journeyman I will perform tasks related to steel erection, fabrication, and installation, offering an opportunity for individuals with strong technical skills and a commitment to safety and quality to advance their careers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the layout, assembly, and installation of structural steel components according to project plans and specifications.
• Assist with Insulated Metal Panels and Metal Roofs.
• Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and rigging gear to position and secure steel elements.
• Assist with rigging and hoisting operations to lift and position steel components using cranes and rigging equipment.
• Inspect rigging equipment and hardware for signs of wear or damage and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
• Perform visual inspections of work performed, checking for proper fit, alignment, and weld quality.
• Assist with quality control inspections and testing, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Work collaboratively with other crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, foremen, and project managers to provide updates on work progress.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of experience in structural steel erection, welding, Pre-Engineer Metal Buildings, and Metal Roof.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Proficiency in reading construction plans, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Strong technical skills in steel fabrication, welding, and rigging.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to steel erection and construction.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
