Job Description

Overview

The 1st Shift Welder is responsible for welding pre-cut or fabricated components to assemble standardized and custom weldments. The role requires working from various instructions and maintaining quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Weld pre-cut or fabricated components to assemble standardized and custom weldments.
  • Perform welding operations on electric-arc welding machines.
  • Work from samples, prints, sketches, and other instructions.
  • Assist in layout and construction of weld fixtures.
  • Inspect workmanship to specified procedures and comply with quality system requirements.
  • Set welding machines and make adjustments for production and quality expectations.
  • Assist other welding personnel on projects as directed.
  • Assist in problem solving with machines and equipment.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety standards.
  • Consistently perform work assignments at specified rates.
  • Accurately complete paperwork relating to job tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong math and communication skills required.
  • Ability to read drawings and production process documentation.
  • Fluently read a tape measure.
  • Must provide own welding helmet.
  • Physically capable of wearing a welder’s shield and respirator as needed.
