Overview
Since 1917, Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines, systems, and plants for advanced composites, building products, and pulp & paper. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and machine welding structural steel and aluminum materials.
Responsibilities
- Use shop drawings, written, and verbal instructions to prepare, layout, and fit materials as specified.
- Weld materials in all positions in accordance to shop drawings & standard welding practices.
- Setup and regulate machine parameters such as gas, current, amperage, voltage, to produce correct bead size, and proper penetration.
- Check and confirm all required dimensions using a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, or other inspection devices as required.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and manlifts.
- Detect faulty processes and provide some input for their resolution.
- Be available to work overtime when needed to ensure deadlines are met.
- Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. strongly preferred.
- Minimum of three years dual shield experience required.
- Minimum of two years close tolerance-fitting experience required.
- A.B.O certification strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manufacturing planning, weld symbols, and sketches required.
- Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure required.
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required.
- Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
- Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.
