Overview
The Pipefitter Helper 2 role involves laying out, assembling, installing, or maintaining pipe systems and related equipment according to specifications and industry standards. The position requires intermediate experience and involves working in a construction environment with various physical demands.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, assemble, install, or maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
- Read isometric drawings and take measurements for piping installation.
- Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products for welding.
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, and fittings according to specifications.
- Position and secure materials during installation according to plans.
- Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
- Manually handle and apply rigging equipment securely.
- Operate tools including beveling machines, grinders, hammers, and torches.
- Layout and install equipment, vessels, pumps, and supports.
- Hydro test piping systems.
Requirements
- May require a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field.
- Must possess working knowledge and skills for the position.
- Ability to understand and communicate written and oral instructions.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely.
- Must be able to move about a construction site and perform physical tasks.
- Must be able to work in changing outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
- Must be able to use ladders and scaffolds to access work areas.
- Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- U.S. Driver's License may be required.
- Must pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
