Overview

$17-$25 Based on Experience. The Production Welder is responsible for welding parts to conform to customer orders, specific design and quality, while maintaining a safe and orderly work area.

Responsibilities

• Weld parts to conform to customer orders and specifications.
• Perform complex welds that meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Follow instruction and direction of supervisor and/or lead.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area.
• Proficiently read and follow blue print directions.
• Set and adjust welding equipment to comply with specifications.
• Create weldments using both simple and complex jigs and fixtures.
• Assist in setup and staging of components for maximum production efficiency.
• Accurately document production information as required.
• Follow all policies and procedures for safety and productivity.
• Maintain departmental equipment for maximum production efficiency.
• Perform other tasks as required or assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years welding in a production environment preferred.
• Proficiency in blue print reading and weld symbol recognition.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting measuring tools.
• Self-motivated individual.
• Applicant must pass an on-site welding test.
• MIG Welding experience required.
• Flux Core Welding preferred.
• TIG Welding helpful.
• Using Measuring Tools required.
• Blueprint Reading required.
• Welding Symbols knowledge required.
• Using Setup Sheets.
• Scanning Work Orders.
• Must be able to stand for continuous periods.
• May be required to climb ladders or work overhead.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to pull and/or push up to 75 lbs. regularly.
• May be required to bend, stoop, kneel, or reach.

Additional Information

• 1st shift: Monday- Thursday 6:00am- 3:30pm, Friday 6:00am- 10:00am.
• 2nd shift: Monday- Thursday 3:30 pm- 2:00 am.
• Reports to Technical Supervisor.
• Status: Non-Exempt.
• Supervision Responsibility: None.
