Overview

The Welder - Night Shift position at Steffes involves operating various welding tools and following procedures to meet customer requirements. The role emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and safety while providing a generous shift premium and a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of welding tools and hand tools.
• Read drawings, blueprints, and heat numbers.
• Follow standard work, training guides, and weld procedures.
• May be responsible for basic robot operation.
• Report inconsistencies and defects in material, product, or equipment.
• Make adjustments to fab parts for proper alignment.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by collaborating with others.
• Help the company meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety objectives.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Combination of welding certification(s) and/or experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet).
• Reading skills for instructional and technical information.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist and carry 50 pounds.
• Visual acuity required to inspect work completed.

Additional Information

• Shift Time: 4:30pm - 3:00am, Monday - Friday.
• Fridays may require mandatory overtime depending on production needs.
• Position may require additional responsibility and ability to work overtime hours.
