Overview

L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions for heavy equipment in various industries. They are seeking a Welder to join their team, working closely with other welders and supervisors, and rotating shifts every other week.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG production welding on various materials including mild and stainless steel, brass, and aluminum.
• Work with Steel Prep and Paint departments as part of the fabrication and assembly process.
• Observe, guide, and assist with training of beginners and skilled welders.
• Perform basic maintenance on MIG and TIG welding machines.
• Use torches, grinders, drill presses, plasma torches, and other shop equipment.
• Assemble and weld oil cooler frames and radiator frames, including sub-assemblies.
• Collect parts for final assembly and prepare for assembly.
• Maintain care of equipment and tools.
• Change gas bottles as required.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School diploma or GED with 1-year related experience, or completion of technical college welding course.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance on MIG and TIG welding machines.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test and hands weld test, physical, drug and background test.
• 2-year Welding degree and 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience reading SolidWorks blueprints.

Additional Information

• Rotating shifts every other week on days and afternoons.
• Day shift operates Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm.
• Afternoon shift operates Monday through Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm.
• Overtime is possible depending on production needs.
