Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable Welder II to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft, where advanced understanding of welding is necessary to produce metal components while adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Produce metal components using advanced welding techniques.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tag out.
• Weld two or more different types (Mig, Tig, etc.).
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws with the Quality team.
• Adjust welding machines as necessary.
• Report daily production quantities to meet set production goals.
• Maintain consistent and accurate counts of materials and products.
• Perform daily maintenance on welding machines.
• Conduct necessary quality checks on products and complete daily communication.
• Set up workstation according to safety standards for maximum efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
• Complete the first part approval process for complex jobs.
• May tack weldments or components for robotic welding.
• May touch up points in the robotic weld cell.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years welding experience required.
• Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions.
• Flat Weld Certification (1G – 6G) preferred – Aws D1.1 and stainless.
• Working knowledge of welding with previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and fillet gauges.
• Ability to be forklift certified.
• Ability to follow hoist safety protocols.
• Self-motivated and takes initiative.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools.
• Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
• Consistently wear personal protective equipment.
