Overview

FirstCall Mechanical is a leading provider of commercial and industrial HVAC services, committed to employee growth and development. They are seeking an experienced Seasoned Sheet Metal Mechanic to join their team in Asheville, NC, responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of HVAC ductwork and related sheet metal components.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
• Install and assemble sheet metal components in commercial settings, including HVAC ductwork and ventilation systems.
• Perform welding, soldering, and fastening of sheet metal parts.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial sheet metal work.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and ductwork installation.
• Ability to operate sheet metal machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and practices.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various environments.
• Certification in welding or HVAC installation preferred.
• Experience with computerized fabrication equipment preferred.
