Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company focused on advancing agricultural productivity and infrastructure. The Welding Trainer / Technician will lead training programs, support welding processes, and ensure compliance with AWS standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead training through Valmont’s welder training program.
• Administer welder qualifications per applicable AWS standards.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, safety, and engineering teams.
• Execute training program and maintain applicable records.
• Perform process audits and correct deficiencies.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve training.
• Complete Root Cause Analysis and deploy corrective actions.
• Coach and train new and existing welding operators.
• Conduct welder qualification testing per applicable AWS standards.
• Order and track materials, PPE, and tools for training.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum five years of experience in a weld manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of various welding processes including GMAW, FCAW, and SAW.
• Knowledge of oxyfuel and plasma cutting operations.
• Ability to obtain Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and Certified Welding Educator (CWE) accreditations.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
• Knowledge of Valmont’s quality system and standards.

Additional Information

• This is an on-site administrative hourly position.
• Travels up to 20% of the time within the United States.
• The working environment includes industrial shops, training areas, classrooms, and office settings.
