Overview

The Welding Instructor position at Northeast Community College is a full-time faculty role focused on instructing classes and labs, developing new courses, and providing academic advisement to students. The instructor will engage in professional development and participate in college committees while adhering to institutional policies.

Responsibilities

• Instruct classes and labs as assigned by the Dean.
• Develop new courses.
• Maintain requisite office hours.
• Provide academic advisement to students.
• Serve on college committees.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development activities.
• Perform all instructional-related activities as directed.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in welding or related technology program area.
• Three to five years of work experience in the field.
• Combination of licensure and/or certification with work experience may substitute for a college degree.
• Minimum of three years of successful work experience as a welding professional.
• Demonstrated proof of holding welding certifications in one or more areas of welding is preferred.
• Evidence of the ability to train others to weld proficiently is required.
• Welding proficiency in shielded metal arc, gas metal and flux cored arc, and gas tungsten arc is required.
• Expertise in pipe welding, print reading, and understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
