Overview

For nearly 80 years, Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. The Welder will perform welding to satisfactory product standards and specifications, ensuring all items meet RLWS quality standards while operating various welding equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the overhead crane and forklift to move material
  • Perform MIG welding operations to RLWS quality standards and expectations
  • Read blueprints to perform proper welds
  • Grind parts and occasionally blast parts before or after welding operations
  • Work in a small group setting and independently to complete required workload
  • Operate power tools and basic hand tools
  • Frequent lifting <30lb
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50lb

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Welding degree or 2 or more years of manufacturing welding experience
  • Working knowledge of the practices, materials, methods, and tools of the welding trade
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade, and of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and other manufacturing documentation
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
  • Ability to efficiently read a tape measure and other inspection tools
  • Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred

  • Monday - Friday 1st shift daytime hours
  • 40 hours are guaranteed, with overtime as needed
