Job Description

Overview

The ideal candidate for Classic Welding will be an experienced fabricator who has an eye for detail, enjoys a variety of challenging projects, and takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble structural metal products according to job order, following verbal instructions, blueprints, and sketches.
  • Develop, layout, and plan the sequence of steps necessary to carry out the project.
  • Clean, organize, and maintain a tidy work area.
  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, allowances, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal.
  • Independently locate and mark bending and cutting lines onto the workpiece.
  • Set up and operate various fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, ironworker, flame cutters, pipe benders, and drill presses.
  • Set up a welding machine per project, being well-rounded in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Design and construct templates and fixtures.
  • Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications using a square, ruler, and measuring tape.
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
  • Work as a member of a team by communicating and collaborating with others.
  • Maintain high quality standards for workplace ethics, products, and personal output.
  • Have a broad sense of mechanical and structural knowledge, including railing layout and install, equipment and vehicle repair.
  • Maintain flexibility and quality in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Adhere to shop and safety rules as well as handbook standards.

Requirements

  • Mig/Tig/Stick proficiency.
  • Independently interpret and execute blueprints and drawings.
  • Accurately and meticulously carry out projects from start to finish.
  • Experience in the welding and/or mechanical field required.
  • Portfolio of Welding or trade school preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with machining parts, CNC Plasma Cutting, and Pipe bending is a plus.
