Overview

The Welder/Fabricator position at Macuch Steel Products involves binding structural and non-structural parts using MIG welding according to drawings and AISC guidelines. All welders must complete an in-house training program to certify according to AWS standards.

Responsibilities

• Bind structural and non-structural parts using MIG welding.
• Follow written procedures and AISC guidelines for all welds.
• Complete in-house training program and pass certification tests.

Requirements

• At least three years of structural steel experience preferred.
• Must be certified according to AWS Standards.
• Proficient with a cutting torch.
• Knowledge of assembly, parts, welding, welding symbols, and quality control.
• Ability to read and understand welding drawings.
• Knowledge of various structural members (beams, channel, angle) and safety.
• Must pass a test to operate an overhead crane.
• Effective verbal, written, and mathematical skills.
• Ability to walk and stand throughout an eight-hour day.
• Ability to consistently lift 80 lbs. or turn over a beam or column.
• Ability to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in manipulation of parts and weld gun.
• Demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications and drawings.
• Must pass drug and criminal background screenings.
