Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on milled steel and stainless steel.
• Square up and weld a variety of component shapes and structures.
• Weld accurately on both vertical and horizontal planes.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Set up materials and equipment correctly for welding tasks.
• Use various shop tools and machinery, including grinders, band saws, and milling machines.
• Meet production goals and deadlines consistently.
• Arrive on time for work, meetings, and other assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with team members and other departments.

Requirements

• Sorting raw material.
• Squaring up and shearing material accurately.
• Welding material accurately.
• Measures, marks, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material.
• Weld and fabricate materials accurately.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete and metal surfaces.
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, climb, and maintain balance during welding and assembly tasks.
• Ability to use hands and fingers for precise handling and control of welding tools, materials, and components.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with welding, grinding, fitting, and material handling.
• Ability to visually inspect welds, components, blueprints, and schematics to meet quality and tolerance requirements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without mechanical assistance.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other shop equipment, as trained.
• Ability to communicate effectively in moderate-to-high noise production environments.
