Are you looking to work for an innovative Houston-based design and build firm that creates high-complexity, large-scale installations for museums and other themed environments? If so, we are looking for a hands-on Lead Fabricator to act as a bridge between high-level production plans and daily shop floor execution. This is a vital leadership role focused on guiding a talented crew of makers to deliver creative projects that meet rigorous quality and safety standards.

salary: $52,000 - $72,800 per year shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM education: High School

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day shop workflows and assign specific tasks to the fabrication team to ensure project timelines stay on track.
• Act as the "go-to" expert on the floor, coaching team members on advanced techniques to improve overall shop efficiency and skill sets.
• Directly execute the construction of complex elements using a wide variety of materials, including wood, metal, and plastics.
• Enforce high-tier finishing standards and ensure all outputs align perfectly with the original design intent and technical drawings.
• Provide expert-level interpretation of 3D models, shop drawings, and complex fabrication blueprints.
• Collaborate on installation strategies during the build phase and occasionally lead on-site setup teams to ensure a seamless final delivery.

The essential functions of this role include:
