Overview
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Pascagoula, MS that provides quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry. The 1st Class Pipe Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welds on pipes and related components aboard vessels, in accordance with shipbuilding standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG, MIG, and/or stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloy pipes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols.
- Prepare and set up pipe and pipe fittings for welding.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
- Work in confined spaces, elevated surfaces, and various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures.
- Assist with fitting, cutting, and prepping pipe materials as needed.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of pipe welding experience in a shipyard or industrial setting.
- Ability to pass welding tests in accordance with ABS, NAVSEA, or USCG standards.
- Familiarity with carbon steel, copper-nickel, and stainless pipe.
- Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolding, and in tight spaces.
