Responsibilities

• Perform steel fabrication duties such as cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, and welding of steel assemblies.
• Interpret and understand technical drawings containing weld symbols.
• Interpret and understand Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) documents.
• Operate pneumatic and electric tools, including grinders and impact drivers.
• Operate oxy/acetylene torch and plasma cutting equipment.
• Operate small equipment such as tractors and fork trucks.
• Operate fabrication equipment including band saws and drill presses.
• Work independently and cooperatively in an active fabrication shop environment.
• Follow shop Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements

• Experience as a welder or welder/fitter.
• Ability to pass a welder qualification test for code-required welds.
