Job Description
Overview
The Welder Conveyor Technician is responsible for performing heavy-duty welding and fabrication tasks, as well as installing and maintaining conveyor systems. This role involves ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment through regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform heavy-duty stick (SMAW) welding on structural steel, chutes, hoppers, and heavy equipment buckets.
- Install, tension, track, and splice heavy-duty rubber conveyor belts.
- Replace rollers, idlers, pulleys, and bearings.
- Conduct daily inspections of 'high-wear' areas.
- Grease moving parts and identify stress fractures in steel structures before they lead to failure.
