Overview
Black Label Steel is seeking experienced Shop Fabricators, Welders, and Plasma Table Operators to join their dedicated in-house team in Phoenix, AZ. The company values quality, teamwork, and growth, providing an opportunity for skilled tradespeople to take pride in precision work and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Weld and fit structural components according to shop drawings (FCAW, MIG, and Dual Shield at 2F position).
- Perform layout, fitting, and assembly of beams, columns, embeds, and stair pans.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy using squares, levels, and measuring tools.
- Operate CNC plasma table and perform minor programming or nesting edits.
- Inspect cut parts for accuracy, labeling, and quality.
- Maintain and clean table and consumables to ensure consistent performance.
- Follow all shop safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout practices.
- Inspect welds and finished parts to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 and company standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate with foreman, fitters, and QC throughout fabrication process.
- Support teammates with setup, lifts, and safe handling of materials.
- Take ownership of your work — from start to finish.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in steel fabrication, welding, or fitting.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and shop drawings.
- Proficiency in Dual Shield, FCAW, and MIG welding.
- Strong work ethic and consistent attendance.
- Ability to lift and move steel safely and efficiently.
- Experience operating CNC plasma table (preferred).
- AWS D1.1 Certification (preferred).
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- OSHA 10 training (preferred).

- Full-time position.
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Summer Hours M-F 4AM-1200).
