Overview

AF Steel is Arizona’s premier steel fabricator and erector, founded in 1980, recognized for its innovation and forward-thinking mindset. The company is hiring experienced Structural Steel Fitters and Welders for light to heavy structural steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate welding tools and equipment according to the parameters listed in the welding procedure specification (WPS).
• Carry out post-welding treatment of structures by cleaning.
• Inspect and evaluate welds to ensure they are free of defects and conform to set specifications.
• Employ appropriate welding methods in completing structural fabrications.
• Operate cranes.
• Set equipment to weld in vertical, horizontal, flat or overhead positions.
• Read, understand and interpret blueprints for structural steel and fabrication.
• Install all required components per drawing in a timely manner.
• Read and understand weld symbols.
• Follow welding procedures.
• Adhere to company and jobsite safety guidelines, procedures and policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience welding, fabricating or fitting in a shop environment.
