Overview

A pipe welder joins, fabricates, and repairs metal pipes for various systems like water, gas, and oil, ensuring structural integrity and safety. This involves reading blueprints, utilizing welding equipment, and adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints for piping systems.
  • Measuring and cutting pipes according to specifications.
  • Welding pipe sections using various techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, Stick).
  • Inspecting completed welds to ensure quality standards.
  • Following safety procedures and regulations during the welding process.
  • Maintaining and caring for welding equipment and tools.
  • Collaborating effectively with other tradespeople and team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED as minimum educational requirement.
  • Welding Certificate/Training preferred.
  • Expertise in different welding techniques (TIG, MIG, Stick).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Precision in measuring and cutting pipes.
  • Physical endurance to work in various positions.
  • High level of accuracy and precision in welding and fitting.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve welding issues.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and team members.
