Overview
Our client, a manufacturing company in the Catoosa area, is seeking an experienced Fitter Welder for their 2nd shift team. This is a hands-on role requiring a highly skilled individual who can work independently with minimal supervision and contribute to larger team projects when needed.
Responsibilities
- Fit and weld structural components and assemblies including platforms, tubing, sheet metal, plate, pipe, and enclosures.
- Perform TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel.
- Perform FCAW (fluxcore) welding on carbon steel.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Measure, cut, and fit materials using tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, band saws, and grinders.
- Assemble both small and large weldments with minimal supervision.
- Ensure weld quality meets specifications and company standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Work independently on assigned projects and collaborate with team members on larger builds.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fitting and welding structural components.
- Strong proficiency in TIG welding (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
- Strong proficiency in MIG welding (carbon steel and stainless steel).
- Strong proficiency in FCAW / fluxcore welding (carbon steel).
- Proven ability to fit and assemble components independently.
- Experience working with a variety of fabrication tools and measuring equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Team player for larger-scale projects.
- Stable work history.
