Overview

The Rig Welder position at MEC Construction LLC involves skilled welding of pipes ranging from 2" to 36" and requires candidates to pass an API 1104 qualification test. The role is project-based and requires various welding and fabrication skills, along with the ability to work in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Skillfully weld pipe from 2" to 36".
• Perform downhill welding.
• Cut pipe and fittings with a torch.
• Read blueprints, P&IDs, and ISOs, and create red line/as built drawings.
• Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in the work.

Requirements

• Two to three years of pipe welding and fabrication experience required.
• Must be able to pass an API 1104 multiple qualification test.
• Candidates with the ability to self-fit pipe are encouraged to apply.
• Must be able to frequently walk, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, and stand.
• Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekends.
• Must wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Candidates with welding certificates are encouraged to apply.
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred.
