General Dynamics NASSCO is a member of the General Dynamics Marine Systems business unit, focusing on ship construction, advanced ship repair, conversion, and maintenance for commercial and national defense assets. They are currently seeking 3 Structural Welders J1 for their Steel Shop in Norfolk, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Weld using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding processes.
• Hook up oxygen acetylene torch.
• Read weld gauges and use hand tools with close supervision.
• Understand weld symbols.
• Know standard item 1689 and the guidelines of 5 S.

Requirements

• Must be a Journeyperson 1 Welder.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pulling, crawling, and kneeling.
• Must be able to go on vessels.
