The Welding Inspector role involves providing technical support for welding processes and personnel under Pressure Equipment certification services, primarily for the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).

Responsibilities

• Independently assess and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and manufacturing activities for compliance.
• Identify nonconformities and verify corrective actions during compliance verification activities.
• Witness onsite testing of weld processes and perform lab testing as required.
• Review documentation and lab reports to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Prepare Welding Procedure Qualification Records and Welder Test Certificates.
• Communicate technical issues with the Notified Body for final approval.
• Serve as the primary client interface for welding inquiries and quote requests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) - Active.
• At least 5 years experience with AWS, ASME IX or similar.
• At least 5 years experience with NDE/NDT methods.
• Experience as a welding coordinator or inspector.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and welding processes.
• Valid driver's license.
• Valid passport.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Adequate near and far visual acuity for inspections.
• Physical capability for frequent domestic and international travel.
