Overview
The Electrician Level 1 position at West Fraser involves a variety of technical tasks including diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment. The company is a leading North American wood products producer that values safety and promotes from within.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, and maintain equipment.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions using sight, sound, or actions of machinery.
- Start, observe, operate, or inactivate equipment to verify functions.
- Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment as part of preventive maintenance.
- Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment and components.
- Operate various mechanical and electronic test equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of pumps, conveyor systems, motors, and drives.
- Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma or GED.
- Three years or more of experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment.
- Experience with PLC logic and troubleshooting.
- Experience with fabrication, cutting with a torch, and welding with an arc welder.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Eligible to legally work in the United States.
- Ability to work as part of a team and deliver value.
- Willingness to cross-train to learn new jobs and skills.

Additional Information
- Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Willing and able to work on an emergency call-in basis as required.
