Overview

The Pipefitter Leader is responsible for leading a team of employees in the Pipefitter Shop, making independent decisions, and ensuring work is completed satisfactorily and on time under the supervision of a Pipefitter Shop Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of eight or more employees in trades and labor work.
• Acts as a working leader and subject matter expert in pipe-fitting and plumbing.
• Tracks compliance with the Legionella Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Advises Engineering Technicians, Engineers, and supervisors on pipe-fitting matters.
• Coordinates work orders and maintains stock levels of parts and supplies.
• Assigns work to shop employees and sets priority lists.
• Ensures quality, accuracy, and compliance with trade codes.
• Demonstrates proper work methods to shop staff.
• Prepares schedules and submits them for approval.
• Recommends personnel actions such as promotions and disciplinary measures.
• Maintains accurate records of work, time, and repair costs.
• Operates a motor vehicle for transportation to work sites.
