Overview
We’re a small, fast-moving fabrication shop looking for a Welder Helper / Shop Hand who wants real hands-on experience. If you’ve just finished welding school or are about to graduate and are ready to learn from experienced fabricators, this is a solid place to start.
Responsibilities
- Assisting welders with fit-up, prep, and cleanup during active fabrication jobs
- Cutting, grinding and prepping materials for welding
- Setting up and organizing tools, materials, and work areas before jobs start
- Running for parts, staging materials, and keeping projects moving
- Using shop equipment like grinders, saws, pipe threaders, and basic fabrication tools
- Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop
Requirements
- Recent welding school grads or anyone with basic welding/fabrication knowledge
- Familiarity with MIG, TIG, or FCAW is helpful, but not required
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic prints or sketches
- Good work ethic—show up on time, stay busy, and be willing to learn
- Comfortable working on your feet, lifting materials, and being in a shop environment
- Someone who takes pride in doing things right, even the small stuff
