Job Description

Overview

The Welder I is responsible for permanently joining steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum components together using appropriate welding techniques. This role is part of the Manufacturing team at Atlas Copco Group and emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Join steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum components using welding techniques.
  • Familiarize with basic department functions including cut & prep, bending, and part modification.
  • Use measuring devices such as tape measures.
  • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications and maintain tight tolerances.
  • Align components using calipers and rulers, and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Participate in training provided by seasoned employees.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Comply with company policies and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous industry experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience interpreting and following written and verbal work instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.
