Overview

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. The Senior Prototype Fabrication Technician will join the Dev Manufacturing Team in Costa Mesa, CA, to fabricate and support the build of various parts and structures for Anduril's hardware programs.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld parts, structures, and assemblies for prototype and development hardware.
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely.
• Perform precision fabrication work including cutting, fitting, rolling, bending, forming, grinding, drilling, and finishing.
• Weld small and large structures using MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, and FCAW processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical instructions.
• Work through R&D fabrication tasks with evolving designs.
• Evaluate build requirements and support execution planning.
• Partner with engineers and shop leaders to resolve build issues.
• Inspect work for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Mentor teammates and support onboarding for new members.
• Participate in interviews for new hires.
• Support shop organization, safety practices, and workflow improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of welding experience using GMAW, FCAW, and/or GTAW.
• Experience welding steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys.
• 10+ years of metal fabrication experience in an R&D or similar environment.
• 10+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience using various forming equipment.
• Experience operating fabrication and machining equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and evolving designs.
• Proficiency in fabrication and hardware development.
• Experience mentoring or training junior technicians or fabricators.
• Experience performing cutting, fitting, bending, forming, grinding, drilling, welding, and assembly operations.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export controlled information.
• Waterjet and/or laser cutting experience.
• CAD experience, especially with SolidWorks.
• Experience supporting prototype builds and development hardware.
• Experience working directly with engineers on design issues.
