Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Shipfitter/Welder and become a vital part of constructing, repairing, and maintaining maritime and industrial structures. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments to cut, shape, weld, and assemble metal components.
- Perform welding tasks including arc welding, MIG/TIG welding, and soldering.
- Conduct heavy lifting operations safely using rigging techniques and mechanical aids.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance using tools like ohmmeters and calipers.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and fabrication logs.
- Collaborate with team members on shipfitting projects involving electrical systems and mechanical assemblies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a shipfitter and/or welder with strong knowledge of fabrication techniques.
- Service technician experience or military background is highly desirable.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, vehicle maintenance, or heavy machinery is a plus.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering equipment, and heavy lifting gear.
- Mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal work, rigging operations, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with safety standards for working around heavy equipment and in maritime environments.
- Customer service skills are beneficial for team collaboration and client interactions.
