Overview
Derecktor is seeking an experienced welder/fabricator to join their team, focusing on the layout, fabrication, and welding of piping systems, as well as the assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of marine hydraulic plumbing and structural components. Candidates must be able to read blueprints and select appropriate materials and tools, working in a collaborative environment dedicated to high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding processes to an International Class Standard in 3G, 4G, and 6G positions.
- Utilize SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding techniques for steel and aluminum.
- Read and understand drawings and weld symbols.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Prepare and clean surfaces prior to welding.
- Lay out, fabricate, and assemble structural vessel components.
Requirements
- Pass an internal welding test.
- Skilled in the fabrication and repair of equipment, fixtures, and structures.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and weld symbols.
- High attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
- Knowledge of tool and equipment operation.
- Preferred experience in a shipyard/ship repair environment.
- Preferred OSHA Safety Training.
