The company is seeking a Welder for its M GB MAINTENANCE Department, which is part of the M GENERATION Division, with a focus on integrity, excellence, and community commitment.
Responsibilities
- Arc and gas weld various materials involved in the installation of power plant apparatus.
- Know properties and weldability of materials commonly used in power plant apparatus.
- Perform both low pressure and high pressure welds in all positions under Boiler Code of State of Hawaii.
- Work from blueprints, sketches, and written or oral instructions.
- Arc and gas cut steel and non-ferrous alloys.
- Arc and gas braze and silver-solder steel and non-ferrous alloys.
- Heat machine parts for shrink fits.
- Follow welding specifications, including preheating, post heating, and chipping.
- Perform mechanical maintenance work on steam and diesel power plant equipment.
- Conduct concrete work including construction of forms and cement finishing.
- Assist Maintenance Mechanics and/or Diesel Mechanics as required.
- Assume an emergency management role as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to identify and distinguish the difference between colors, including shades, hues, and tints.
- Graduate of Welder Apprentice Program or equivalent training and experience.
- Must be certified under ASME Boiler Code for Welder-Thereafter and Certified Combination Welder.
