The company is seeking a Welder for its M GB MAINTENANCE Department, which is part of the M GENERATION Division, with a focus on integrity, excellence, and community commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Arc and gas weld various materials involved in the installation of power plant apparatus.
  • Know properties and weldability of materials commonly used in power plant apparatus.
  • Perform both low pressure and high pressure welds in all positions under Boiler Code of State of Hawaii.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and written or oral instructions.
  • Arc and gas cut steel and non-ferrous alloys.
  • Arc and gas braze and silver-solder steel and non-ferrous alloys.
  • Heat machine parts for shrink fits.
  • Follow welding specifications, including preheating, post heating, and chipping.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance work on steam and diesel power plant equipment.
  • Conduct concrete work including construction of forms and cement finishing.
  • Assist Maintenance Mechanics and/or Diesel Mechanics as required.
  • Assume an emergency management role as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to identify and distinguish the difference between colors, including shades, hues, and tints.
  • Graduate of Welder Apprentice Program or equivalent training and experience.
  • Must be certified under ASME Boiler Code for Welder-Thereafter and Certified Combination Welder.
