Overview

ResourceTek is the Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions, specializing in technical recruitment and staffing services. They are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Structural Fabricator for a leading defense and aerospace engineering company, responsible for fabricating and assembling sheet metal parts for aircraft and components.

Responsibilities

• Possesses a high level of attention to detail and workmanship to fabricate and assemble components while holding key critical dimensional tolerances.
• Proficient in set-up and operation of fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers.
• Understands how to lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques.
• Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.
• Reviews, reads and understands military technical manuals, technical orders, modification work orders, blueprints, sketches and product specifications.
• Complies with safety rules and procedures and uses protective equipment as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years required; shall have knowledge of simplistic tasks associated with the fabrication and assembly of electronic and mechanical hardware assemblies.
• 3 years’ experience preferred; five years preferred in planning, layout and building to blueprints, or product specifications.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly techniques.
