Overview

Vulcan Steel Structures is a leading manufacturer of pre-engineered steel buildings, serving industrial, commercial, and agricultural markets throughout the Southeast. The company emphasizes safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship, and is seeking skilled individuals to join their production team.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and flux-core welding (FCAW) on structural steel components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Fit and align steel members accurately prior to welding using jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools.
• Set up and operate welding and cutting equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for conformance to quality standards.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment to move materials safely.
• Maintain work area cleanliness and perform basic equipment maintenance.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE use.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of structural welding and/or fitting experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in MIG and flux-core welding (ability to pass a weld test required).
• Experience in blueprint reading, layout, and fit-up of steel members.
• Knowledge of basic shop math and measuring tools (tape, square, levels, etc.).
• Forklift and/or crane experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
