Overview
The position of Welder (GTAW/TIG) requires a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Aerospace Welding. Candidates must possess solid computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, along with basic welding and metallurgy knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.
- Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
- Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions.
- Dimensionally inspect welds and other characteristics of parts using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
- Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects, tagging non-conforming parts with re-work labels.
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear all Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Aerospace Welding.
- 5 years of solid general computer skills required, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in math skills required.
- 1 year of basic welding and metallurgy required.
- Ability to read, interpret, and process work instructions.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote good housekeeping practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
